Honda Might be Flying in 2013

Now you may be wondering, where is Honda in their small business jet project now? Well, they are close to getting their multi-million-dollar jet officially certified. After that important step is achieved, Honda is planning to buildup production to 80 HondaJets annually, in the first 6 months of 2013.
There are obviously other small business jet carriers out there. But when, like Honda you think you can offer a quieter jet, delivering 20% better fuel economy and close to two-thirds improvement in overall operational costs, you will have leverage to dominate the market. And, small business jets represent a larger niche as you may think. In fact, when Honda initially started taking orders for the winged commuter approximately six years ago, they received more than 100 orders in just three days!
Honda executive, Michimasa Fujiino is drawing a parallel between the HondaJet and best-selling Honda Civic when he says "We're doing with the HondaJet what the Civic did to American cars from the 1960s. Our competitors are still producing technology from the 1990s."1 According to Fujino, Honda Aircraft is expecting to turn a profit in 5 years.
