Dear Mr. Art Schaller

I have been meaning to send this letter since October of last year when I purchased my CR-V; my apologies for the delay.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Schaller Honda for making my experience buying my new CR-V such a positive one.

In early fall, I started to look for a new car. I loved the Saab that I drove but it was not practical nor was it affordable to drive anymore. I narrowed my search down to a Honda. Honda could sell itself, which is why I believe a dealership should be superior and their customer service should be outstanding. I went to several Honda dealers in my area, some were good but they didn't "wow" me. A friend urged me to go Schaller and even though my first visit wasn't a success story my second visit was. Dan Decarlo was working and came out to the parking lot. I mentioned my earlier experience to Dan and he couldn't have been kinder. Equally kind that day was Mark Schebell who worked with me to create a deal.

Dan remembered even the smallest detail like the fact I wanted the car's number as a keepsake. That small detail speaks volumes as it demonstrates how he listens to his customers. I have been pleased with the follow up from Honda making sure all is well with my purchase.

Again, I know Honda can sell on it's own but I am truly grateful that I purchased mine through Schaller. It was a crazy winter but I had an extra sense of safety with my Honda.

I applaud the people that are working at Schaller Honda for their dedication. In particular Dan DeCarlo and Mark Schebell. I would not hesitate to send my friends and colleagues to Schaller.

I would like to express my appreciation for three employee's in the Honda Services Department: Ken Orr, Melissa Donovan, and Joyce Baroni. I have been a customer for over 12 years and they embody a high standard for customer service. As they are on the front line and represent Schaller, you should be proud of their work performance. Specifically, both Ken and Melissa explained the services that needed to be preformed and assisted in negotiating a difficulty that I had with the car rental from Enterprise.

They went the extra mile to ensure that I had a ride to work when the rental had problems and they worked around my busy schedule. Melissa kept me informed by providing me with daily updates about the service and time frames. Joyce was very helpful in getting Ken or Melissa to the phone when I needed to speak to them. All 3 made a difficult situation easier to deal with because I knew that I could count on them.

Our sales person was Bob Kenney and he was great. Like most people these days I had done some research on the internet before coming in. This car is the perfect solution for the every day commuter.  After five weeks of driving the Insight, I can say that with good driving habits you will average more than 44 MPG in hilly country and more than 50 MPG on flatter terrain.

It handles very nicely, has very good balance, turns around easily in normal spaces, is easy to park and for an economy car can be taken on longer trips (300 to 450+ miles) on one tank of gas without sacraficing any measurable amount of comfort.

The gas engine shuts down completely at traffic lights (or any other significant, lengthy stop) saving fuel that can be better used in motion.

If you're into doing you're part in conserving gas consumption nation-wide, this is the vehicle all prospective buyers will be happy with.

Dear Art:   Please--I apologize for not getting back to sooner.  I have had serious personal family situations including a death .  Anyways?the survey I responded to was from Schaller and not Honda?but that is okay.  Here are my comments about my purchase of a Honda EXL 2009 with all the amenities except Nagvition System which I don?t need

 

It was been 25 years since I purchased a new car.  I purchased used ?good cars? over those years?all high class
GM cars (i.e.,. Buick Park Aves in early 90?s and Olds Cutlass Cierra, etc.).  So I thought it was time to purchase a ?brand? new car.  I have heard a lot about the Honda Accords as a very good and reliable vehicle and I did some research, along with a friend, who also did some research --and I decided to purchase a Non-GM NEW car in 25 years!!

 

I am so totally trilled with my Metallic Crystal Black Honda ELX-4 cylinder that well I could live in it.  Among so many things, I love the way it handles and drives for me, but so much more important the safety features it has and that fact the car almost drives itself.!!

 

But here is the also the driving inspiration for this purchase:  Your salesperson--Maraget Scalora?she demonstrated the best a salesperson could in my 30 thirty of buying vehicles.  She always answered or got back to questions I had and I felt so comfortable with talking about to her about this ?milestone of event? for me.  Honestly the 4-5 times I went to Schaller Honda before I made the purchase, I saw her in action and she displayed ?emplary actions? rarely found in most car salepeople.  It was Margaret that made a the brand new purchase of a great vehicle pleasant and also informational on the important features of an automobile that I wanted.   KUDOS?to Margaret Scarlora.  In my 30 years of purchasing vehicles whether new or used, Margaret Scalora, made this the Most Pleasant purchase of a car.

Our experience with Schaller was a very positive one. From the beginning when Karen Duffy responded to our email quickly with a specific price for the Accord; we had no intention of  going out on Monday to finalize a purchase but the offer was too good to not pursue. The local Honda dealership's response was "Impossible." They could not match the price. Margaret Scalora was extremely knowledgeable and could not do enough for us as we went through the process. The evening was topped off by Justin who handled the numbers well and was very pleasant despite the lateness of the hour. Margaret was very thorough in explaining the varied aspects of the Accord. If our first experience is any indication of Schaller you have an outstanding organization.

I've been a loyal Honda customer since I bought my Civic EX in September 2001. At the signing, I had financed my car loan through one bank and then re-financed with another a year or two later.

When my car loan was paid off in December 2007, I called my bank to receive my title. Little did I know that that phone call would be the beginning of a headache-inducing scavenger hunt.

Or, should I say, would have been a headache were it not for the efforts of Mr. Dan Virola, Title Clerk, from Schaller Honda in New Britain, CT (the dealership where I purchased my car).

The bank I was dealing with was of little assistance and as I tried to track down my lost title, I decided to call Schaller Honda to see if they could point me in the right direction.

Not only did Mr. Virola point me in the right direction, he did all the driving. He made several phone calls to DMV and even inquired with them personally as to what had happened to my title (turns out it was an error between the two banks). He kept in constant contact with me, letting me know what steps to take and what forms to fill out. Were it not for Mr. Virola's kindness, this would have been a huge ordeal for me (i.e., taking time off work to go to DMV, going through the ever-agonizing DMV phone system, etc.)

Mr. Virola's exceptional customer service skills should be commended. Having people like him on your team keeps customers like me confident and loyal to Honda.

I had such a great experience at Schaller Honda that it inspired me to write this letter. On the morning of 6/18/08 my husband and I called Schaller Honda asking for a better trade in price for a 2004 Land Rover Discovery, as we were unhappy with the quote so sternly and arrogantly provided to us by Manchester Honda. We received an immediate and friendly response, and were offered an appointment that same morning. Most of my contact that morning was with Jason Gengras and Jim Sydoriak. They attentively listened to my situation, seemed to go out of their way to help me and provided me with information in a matter-of-fact yet friendly, respectful manner. Most surprisingly is that they did all of that without even knowing if I was serious about making a sale with them. Additionally, they respected my need to make frequent calls to my husband who was unable to join me that morning.

When I left Schaller Honda that morning, my mind was made up on doing business there. On the morning of 6/19/08 I went back to Schaller Honda and purchased a 2008 Honda Accord because of your staff's willingness to work me on a more reasonable trade in value and because of their friendliness, attention, and professionalism. Again, I spent the most time with Jason and Jim while my car was being prepared, but all of the staff that I came into contact with that day was absolutely a pleasure to work with. Jim especially went out of his way to keep me informed while I waited, and he did a terrific job reviewing the car in detail. I also enjoyed the stories he shared about his own Honda. Additionally, I liked the follow up calls that he made and the fact that he was willing to collaborate with my husband although he had never met him. Jim was one of the most sincere salesmen I have ever dealt with.

Ken and Phil worked to honor Honda's commitment to addressing the issues with that particular transmission model and quickly get me in, fixed and back on the road, working around my schedule. I appreciate their customer focus, ease to work with, and professionalism. Just wanted to say I purchased a car from your store last week and it was a great experience. My initial contact with Robin Rivard, was both professional and a breath of fresh air. I hate buying a car and he made it quick and painless. Margaret the sales person that took me for the test rides was polite and respected my time. I wanted to send a quick note to tell you how impressed and pleased I was by your staff yesterday from my morning drop off, to the very pleasant conversation I had with my driver. He opened and closed my doors as if we were in a private limo and he was interesting and sincere. The service was quick, cost less than I expected and everyone I spoke to was so professional. I had been serviced by the red team but I also overheard a conversation by the manager of the green team. He spoke to his customer with respect and was clear enough for her to understand. She was older and he did an excellent job of being clear and understandable without speaking down to her.

I have in the past gone to get my oil changed at a local business near my home. Before I left, I inquired about the time it would take if I got my oil changed at Schaller.

Your staff made me trust them and that outweighs the inconvenience of your location to m home for routine maintenance.

I wanted to take this opportunity to express our satisfaction with your organization and your people. Within the last year we purchased two vehicles. Actually, we purchased them together. They were a 2002 Honda Odyssey and a 2002 Honda Accord.

Ed Green was our sales rep and he was a pleasure to work with. He was a good listener, very courteous and patient. My wife and I, as well as our three daughters test-drove the vehicles more than once. I would be honored to work with him again.

A few weeks ago, I brought in my Odyssey as it needed a transmission and I was very fortunate to have been able to be serviced by Jennifer Zatorowski, Blue Team Service Manager. Her attitude, demeanor and service were excellent! She made a stressful situation more pleasant.

I want to let you know that I felt like a "Queen" on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2007 when I purchased my Honda Civic. First of all, I like to share with you my experience. When I enter the show room, everyone spoke to me and made me fell very comfort. As a begin to browse and make comments to my daughter, who is already a Honda Fan of yours, Dan DeCarlo approach me with a very friendly smile and ask," what can I do for you today". Believe me it was a pleasure doing business with Dan. He respected my opinion and gave me information about the Honda that I didn't know. I have always been a Toyota fan but Dan won me over with such great information and facts about the Honda. When we went for the test drive, I was sold. I knew that all your commercials I had seen on TV about your business and your staff was truth. Dan is an outstanding sales consultant. His personality and sense of humor was a breath of fresh air to me. I teach customer service to my clients but I will make sure that if they really want to see customer service, they need to visit Schaller Honda and maybe one day purchase an auto. It was a pleasure to see you and how you took the time to say Hell-o. I will continue to tell my story to my clients, students and friends and encourage them to go Schaller. Today, December 26, I stopped in to purchase all weather mats and guess who had already called and e-mail me to tell me thanks and how was the car? Dan met me at the door as I walk in to inquiry about the mats and personally walked me back to the sales department to purchase the mats. Art, he also put them in the car for me. Special thanks to great people who you have hired and tell Dan I appreciate quality service when I receive it. You may not know it but I work with about 1000 people each year and I will tell this story about a thousand times. I am now a Honda Fan!

I would just like to thank Lori Xeller and Vince Giordano for their assistance after we purchased our 2004 Honda CRV on October 31, 2007 (Halloween). After getting th car home we discovered a crease in the rear panel as the car is white and with the light in the parking lot we could not see it. Also, the rear bumper was dented in the rear corner. I contacted Lori as I had her card and she advised she would set up an appointment with a manager to look at it. After several scheduling conflicts we were ab to bring the car in and Vince was able to look at the car. I thought we would battle about us taking the car home without seeing it at your dealership but Vince agreed it should never have left the lot like that especially being a certified vehicle. The vehicle was repaired and while in the shop we were given a loaner.

We would like to recognize Vince and Lori for going out of their way to help us. We will continue to visit your dealership and recommend others based on this experience.

I had a terrific experience buying my new 2009 Element from Schaller. It was easy, no hard sell, and the salesman was knowledgable and friendly. I was going to purchase from Hoffman Honda, as they're close to my home, but their customer service and the way they treated me on two visits, as if they weren't interested because I wasn't buying immediately, swung me back to Schaller. I will be bringing the Element to Schaller's service dept for all of its' services and have told the folks at my credit union (espn) that if they know anyone looking for a Honda, they should send them to Schaller for great pricing and excellent customer service.
