We see
customers every week who still have the factory settings on the door locks and
it drives them crazy. The factory setting is all doors lock when the car
reaches 9 mph and the drivers' door unlocks when the shifter is put into park.
There are several other options available for the auto door lock feature.
1) Shut
off completely-Allows the driver to lock and unlock the doors as they choose.
2) Doors
do not lock automatically at 9 mph, but unlock when shifter is put into park if
doors have been locked while driving.
3) Doors
lock at 9 mph and all unlock when shifter is put into park.
There are other options available, but these are the most
common. It is very easy to program your doors to your liking, either by reading
the section on DOOR LOCKS in your owners' manual, or asking your service
advisor to set them for you at your next visit.
