Another Favorite That Area Car Dealerships Wish They Had
The 2019 Honda Civic Sedan

The 2019 Honda Civic Sedan you can check out today at Schaller Honda a car dealership  in New Britain is the latest version of a car that dates back as far as 1972. The Civic has been one of the most popular cars in the world for much of that time, and today’s tenth-generation offers a sensational ride and handling, thrilling turbocharged engines, excellent safety, impressive fuel economy and great value for money.

This year, the Civic gets a mid-cycle refresh as this generation has already been with us now for three years. Changes for the 2019 model year include updated exterior styling, the expanded availability of the Sport trim level, and automatic emergency braking is now standard across the range.

According to area car dealers like Schaller Honda, the 2019 Honda Civic Sedan is available in five trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring. LX and Sport models have a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine under the hood, developing 158 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive are standard, but most Civics leaving the factory get a CVT, which is optional on the base model. Trims from the EX upwards feature the first turbocharged engine ever to make it into the Civic, a 1.5-liter turbo-four putting out 174 hp and 167 lb-ft of torque that’s exclusively mated to the CVT.

The automotive media is full of praise for the Civic and its engines. U.S. News & World Report wrote: “The Civic is a perennial challenger for the top spot in our competitive compact car rankings, and the 2019 model is no different. Its lineup of powerful engines gets excellent fuel economy and helps make this Honda one of the most fun-to-drive cars in the class.”

There’s no such thing as a 2019 Honda Civic Sedan with a heavy thirst for gas. Honda says the most popular configuration of the Civic is the sedan with the 1.5-liter turbo-four and the CVT transmission, and that version is rated by the EPA at 32 mpg in the city, 42 mpg on the highway and 36 mpg combined.*

As well as having great engines that are fun and economical, the 2019 Honda Civic Sedan is a car that also comes generously equipped at all trim levels. Base LX models come standard with air conditioning,  a 160-watt audio system with four speakers, a multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and streaming audio, auto high beam headlights and a five-inch color LCD screen. The Civic Sedan Sport upgrades the 5.0-inch display to a 7.0-inch touchscreen for infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, 18-inch wheels, keyless ignition and a selection of appearance upgrades. At the top of the range, the Civic Touring gets full leather upholstery, satellite navigation, a 450-watt premium ten-speaker audio system, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated seats and remote start.

Last year’s car was already very highly rated for overall safety, but new headlights and newly standard active safety gear makes this year’s Civic Sedan even safer. Every version of the 2019 Honda Civic Sedan includes the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assist technologies. The suite includes a collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with Low-Speed Follow and a lane keeping assist system. Perhaps unsurprisingly, with so many advanced safety features being standard, the NHTSA gives the 2019 Honda Civic Sedan full five-star safety ratings for all its crash tests and for the overall score.
